Where we get the coal from.
Ndalama Capital mines the coal that we sell. We also still sell coal from our trading activities as well as coal from the Joint Ventures and sites where we have been contracted to mine.
Ermelo (Uitkomst Site) ~ Situated in Ermelo in South Africa’s Mpumalanga’s province, this open-pit mine employs approximately 35 people and is currently contracted to produce 100,000tpa final coal products, using a conventional truck and shovel operation. This mine has an estimated minable coal reserve of 10Mt, and a total measured coal resource of 8,9Mt, from which lean coal can be produced. This site is in the process of being sold so that Ndalama Capital can focus more on the Lephalale resource.
Lephalale (Windhoek Site) ~ Situated in Lephalale in South Africa’s Limpopo province, this open-pit mine employs approximately 200 people and is currently contracted to produce 300000tpa final coal products, using a conventional truck and shovel operation. This mine has an estimated minable coal reserve of 1 400Mt, and a total measured coal resource of 1 707Mt, from which semi-soft coking coal, thermal coal, and metallurgical coal can be produced. All of the coal produced by this site is sold to the export market. This Mine is new and just opened. It is under capacitated and is looking for off-takers. It has the potential to produce 12 million tonnes per annum.

Offtakes ~ We have strategic partnerships with mines all over the country. These partnerships take the form of JV's, offtakes and contract mining which entitle us to sell other miners product when they have access capacity.
